“Mark and I met through mutual friends and what started out as friends turned into soulmates! I was ultimately impressed when Mark made the first move at a friend’s house by being a gentlemen and announcing to me “when you decide to get rid of the guy you are dating now, let me know because I would like to take you on a date”. That was it, a simple bold gesture stating his intentions without being aggressive or over stepping. I was very impressed! A month or so later Mark got his chance and rocked it!! We started dating and continued while I was in nursing school. Things were amazing. We dated for 3 years and finally Mark Proposed on Feb. 16th 2011 in Breckenridge Colorado. We were snowboarding down the mountain and Mark called me over to the side of a scenic lookout and popped the question! I was blown away and had no idea! He really planned well and kept it from me! I was in shock and totally thought he was joking! I said “OMG are you kidding?” He said, “No I am not kidding!” I said, “Yes, Yes, Yes!”

” We decided on Yellow and Grey for the wedding main colors. Heidi Baker my twin sister AKA Wedding Planner, deserves all the credit when it comes to our wedding planning & designing. She did research on the computer using theknot.com and Pinterest to get ideas on how to decorate. Table Runners were purchased from etsy.com (Yellow Chevron Zigzag) along with the decorative hanging “honeysuckle” “honeybee” signs, “Mr.” and “Mrs.” Hanging chair signs, “Sweet Love” banner that hung over the wedding cake and yellow and white paper straws that went with the lemonade that was served at the reception. Fresh lemons were purchased from Costco and the apothecary jars that held the lemons were purchased from TJ Maxx and Michaels. The bouquets were DIY made by Heidi Baker. The Silk yellow tulips and other flowers were purchased from Michaels. Heidi put together the arrangements herself! She actually used the lace/pearl belt I removed from my wedding dress during alterations as the stem wrap for the bride’s bouquet! It was a perfect touch!”
“The idea of “Don’t get Blinded by our Love” was an idea off of pinterest. We designed an 8×10 sign with the saying and including the grey color of the wedding and put it into a frame purchased from Michaels. We purchased 80 pair of black 80’s sunglasses from Amazon.com and set them on a table so as guests walked to the boardwalk they could pick a pair to wear during the ceremony! It was a neat detail! We also had Frisbees that were purchased from Oriental Trading Company and imprinted with “love is in the air” on them for kiddy favors since it was a beach wedding!”
